South Australia’s fossil emblem has been celebrated with the unveiling of a statue of the Spriggina floundersi – honouring geologist Reg Sprigg, at the University of Adelaide.
Mr Sprigg, who discovered the multicellular organisms had lived in the Ediacara Hills in the Flinders Ranges, studied zoology and geology at the university in the 1940s, prior to his discovery. Read more
