Big ARC Discovery Project starts at Nilpena

Almost $500,000 of funding have been awarded to a team led by Assoc Prof Diego C García-Bellido (Uni of Adelaide & SA Museum), Dr Jim Gehling (SA Museum), Prof Mary Droser (Uni of California, Riverside) and Prof Bob Gaines (Pomona College, California) to study the rocks and fossils of the recently identified Nilpena Member, which overlies the very fossiliferous Ediacara Member.  The project includes the drilling of 2 rock cores at Nilpena Ediacara NP, one attaining 75m of depth and the other 65m.
